The SnorexGuard is a customised Mandibular Advancement Splint (MAS) designed to fit your mouth, jawline and teeth perfectly. The SnoreXguard prevents the narrowing of your throat's airway, by stopping your tongue falling backwards, while holding your soft top palate in place. This dramatically reduces the chance of vibrations, which are caused by the narrowing of the throat's airway.

Yes. SnoreXguard is made with a special aperture in the front, so if you have to, you can breathe through this. Wearing SnoreXguard encourages you to breathe through your nose.

No, SnoreXguard has been designed to encourage saliva flow, keeping your mouth moist.

Yes.  Before, snorers would wake up some mornings and feel like they haven’t slept at all during the night as snoring is hard work – hard work that SnoreXguard may be helpful in preventing! While using the SnoreXguard, snorers will wake feeling refreshed.

While many general practitioners and specialists send clients to our clinic, it is not necessary for you to get a referral form.  You can book directly with us, simply by phoning (07) 3392 1642.

However, you may want to start by talking to your doctor. Your doctor can do a physical examination and make sure there’s nothing more serious going on. Many regular snorers, especially heavy snorers, also have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can cause daytime drowsiness, as well as high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, unhealthy weight gain, heart attack and stroke. (see Is It right For Me?)

A sleep study is not necessary to get fitted for a SnoreXguard.

We require the patient to have two separate visits to our clinic, the first for consultation and making dental impressions, the second for fitting and adjustments if necessary.  These visits are usually spaced five working days apart and are only about 30 minutes each.

We offer a special same-day service for people travelling from intrastate or interstate.  Please ask us about this when booking.

The most common form of sleep apnea is Obstructive Sleep Apnea ie when the airways are obstructed, causing a person to stop breathing for up to a minute or more. In severe cases, it can be repeated hundreds of times per night. The result is reduced oxygen to vital organs such as the heart and brain, with serious long-term medical repercussions.

Snoring is a very common symptom of sleep apnea. But of course, not everyone who snores has sleep apnea. With snoring, the airways are partially blocked, while with sleep apnea, the flow of air is totally blocked.

Both the Continuous Positive Aiflow Pressure (CPAP) machine and the SnoreXguard work to keep the airway open and allow continual airflow. The CPAP works by using pressurised air forced into the mouth and/or nose.  The SnoreXguard manually moves the lower jaw forward, to keep the airway clear.

If you suffer from moderate to severe sleep apnea, a CPAP machine is most likely the better option. Check with your doctor or medical advisor. However, while CPAP is a recommended treatment of sleep apnea, many people do not like using a CPAP machine due to physical discomfort.  Customised Manibular Advancement Splints, such as the SnoreXguard, will work in approximately 90% of mild to moderate sleep apnea cases, significantly reducing, if not eliminating sleep apnea altogether.

The SnoreXguard is free from latex and silicon.

The SnoreXguard can be used with night time dentures, because of its safe, snug fitting design feature. Call our clinic to find out more.

The SnoreXguard is an investment in your health. As a result, private health fund rebates are available if the patient has extras cover. Many private funds will provide reimbursement on part or, in some cases all, of the cost. Check rebate levels with your provider.

Item numbers typically claimable for your SnoreXguard purchase will be 014, 018, 071 (claimable twice – one for each mould), 984.

If you’re purchasing a replacement SnoreXguard, and you have retained your SnoreXguard moulds, and haven’t had any major dental work, the cost is reduced by $200.

Generally no, but if you have extreme circumstances, call our clinic to discuss your situation.

It is important that you clean your SnoreXguard in the Dental Bath we provide, every day after use. Avoid the use of abrasive cleansers such as ammonia, bleach and other household cleaning solutions.

You can also take advantage of our in-clinic cleaning system, which is recommended every 6 months. Refer to our membership program.

Because it is crafted using the highest quality materials, the SnoreXguard will last much longer than other MAS devices. With the right care, it should last you approximately five years, making it a great investment in your health.
